Check grape varieties and regions

Each Champagne Maison has its own tradition. Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier are the major grape varieties cultivated in the region to produce Champagne. The taste of the wine reflects the terroir of the grape growing region, and the yeasty flavors and mouthfeel of the bubbles express the winemaking style of Maisons.

Different cuvee has different characters

Many Champagne Maison release several cuvees. For example, a Maison release standard cuvee under 10,000 yen, and top cuvee for over 20,000 yen. Also, they may have Rose, Blanc de Blanc, Blanc de Noir, Vintage cuvee and so on. Trying different cuvee of same Maison would be an interesting way to enjoy Champagne.

	Champagne region is made up of 317 villages. Among those villages, only 17 villages are classified as Grand Cru.Les Mesnil-sur-Oger, the holy place of Chardonnay, would be the first village that you need to remember. Also, Ambonnay, Verzenay and Ambonnay, the Pinot Noir region, should be the places comes next.
